SHOERENU DISTRIBUTION CLINIC – CHRISTMAS 2014

Each year we operate 3-4 Foot Care Clinics to distribute all the donated shoes we’ve collected to those individuals in need in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside.

Our upcoming clinic is a special one for ShoeRenu and our clients as we celebrate the spirit of Christmas in the Downtown Eastside. In addition to the re-conditioned shoes and new socks we distribute at all clinics, we’ll also be handing out gloves, mitts and toques to help keep our clients warm as the temperature drops.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us get all the shoes, socks, gloves, mitts and toques distributed as well as helping some clients with foot baths and keeping track of clients who’d like to visit with a podiatrist.

Specific volunteer tasks include: helping fit clients with shoes, distributing socks, distributing gloves, mitts and toques, helping clients with foot baths, changing foot bath water and managing the line-up of clients waiting to see a podiatrist.

We provide surgical gloves and antibacterial hand gel for cleanliness. Please wear older clothing to volunteer at the clinic as you may be kneeling to help fit shoes, working with bleach to clean the footbaths, etc.

We’ll be operating 2 volunteer shifts on the day of the clinic. Please indicate which shift you’d like to volunteer for.
